Likha Filipino Cultural Hub was founded in 2025 by three women: immigrants, mothers and culture-bearers, who wanted their children and future generations of Filipino-Canadians to stay deeply connected to their roots. Having seen how easily Filipinos assimilate into new cultures, they felt a need to create spaces where tradition remains alive and accessible. Their hope is simple but powerful: that by bringing Filipino culture closer to families in the diaspora, they can help preserve values, stories and heritage that shape our identity.

Our logo is a stylized Visayan tattoo motif featuring a canoe, which carries multiple layers of meaning.
The canoe is a vessel of migration, representing the journeys taken by Filipino immigrants across oceans, and symbolizing the courage and resilience of our ancestors. It is also a Canadian symbol, as we acknowledge the indigenous lands we now call home.
The canoe is a connector, as are we. It was used as a means of travel, trade and cultural exchange. It connected islands, communities and ideas. In the same spirit, Likha Filipino Cultural Hub serves as a modern connector, a space where knowledge, creativity and community flow freely between generations and across different cultures
